From the red carpet

Today Alex, Casey and myself went to Cannes with a couple of other Brits and Canadians we had met the night before.

We met a couple of 'interesting' people enroute.

By interesting I obviously mean completely bloody barmey.

The first guy was a skinny Frenchman in his twenties wearing a full skin tight and tapered Adidas track suit, with matching shoes who kept wandering round and trying to get into locked doors on the platform.

The second, and my favourite, was this fifty something guy who was sat opposite me in a group of four seats on the train. To give you a mental picture, if we were in England, this guy would definitely have a special brew in hand at 11am.

We were all chatting away, not overly loudly or obnoxiously, and the guy kept piping up in French and putting is fingers in his ears like kids do in films. After that he started putting ringtones on. When I say ring tones I mean old school. Think trigger happy tv, not actual songs.

It was all getting a bit awkward. So I did what I do best. I launched into conversation with the crazy man. He only spoke French so the chat was kind of like a carridge wide game of charades. A lot of fun. Until some Canadian dude asked him where his stop was, Frenchy got the knock thinking the Canadian was trying to get rid of him and started fronting up and shouting, but it all settled down eventually.

We had a lovely time in Cannes, the Azerbaijanies had taken over the cinema so I had to make to with the tourist information's red carpet. There were a lot of cigarette buts and stains but I got my photo damn it!

We then hiked up to the castle, enjoyed the view then went for a dip in the sea before heading back.
